Ukraine Initiates Large-Scale Manufacturing of Novel Defensive Drones

Ukraine has announced the start of mass production for a new domestically developed interceptor drone to enhance its air defences. Three initial producers have begun manufacturing, with 11 more preparing to establish assembly lines, Ukrainian military officials stated on Friday.

'Octopus' Technology Tested in Combat Conditions

The drones will be based on a domestically developed system called “Octopus” designed to intercept Shahed drones. This technology underwent testing in combat and demonstrated effective “during nighttime, under jamming and at low altitudes,” officials confirmed. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy established an ambitious goal of producing as many as 1,000 defensive drones daily.
