Trump Welcomes Relatives of Attacked Military Members to White House

Former President Trump revealed on Sunday that he has asked the loved ones of a Guard member killed last week to come to the presidential home.

He mentioned that he spoke to her family and they were “heartbroken”.

Background on the Devastating Incident

US army specialist Beckstrom, 20, was lost her life in a attack on Wednesday in the nation's capital.

Her fellow service member, US air force staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, continues receiving treatment in grave state.

Memorials across the state have occurred in their remembrance.

White House Offer

The commander-in-chief said he’s discussed a visit to the White House for the families of both soldiers of the state National Guard.

“I stated: ‘When you’re able, because that’s a difficult moment, visit the White House. We’re going to pay tribute to Sarah,” Trump told journalists. “And similarly with him, whether he recovers or not.”

Public Response

Mourners came together over the past few days at Webster County high school in the state to remember Beckstrom.

Both they had been fulfilling duties with the state guard as part of Trump’s national effort to assist public safety in DC.

Honoring Sarah Beckstrom

“She was the type of pupil that instructors wished for. She conducted herself with inner fortitude, a warm expression and a upbeat demeanor that encouraged those around her,” Jarrod Hankins, the leader of Beckstrom’s alma mater, stated to the Associated Press. “She was caring, caring and always eager to help others.”

Funeral details for Sarah are in the process of planning.

Judicial Measures and Policy Changes

Officials have indicted a 29-year-old individual from Afghanistan with a charge of murder and two counts of violent assault while armed.

The tragedy caused the administration to halt asylum processing and temporarily stop providing visas to possessors of travel documents.

Condition of the Airman

Wolfe, a native of Martinsburg, enlisted in early 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of Musselman high school, per the Associated Press.

He continues to receive treatment and is “in a critical fight”, West Virginia leader Patrick Morrisey said on a news program.

Attorney general Bondi told Fox News Sunday that she planned to meet with the family.

Legacy of Beckstrom

Beckstrom, from her hometown, graduated from Webster County High in mid-2023 and joined the military shortly after, working as a law enforcement officer with excellence, per the military.

“She had a lot of kindness and she certainly had courage,” Morrisey addressed the audience at the vigil. “Though her time ended too soon, she has made an impact that’s going to last forever.”
