The Renowned Musician Encourages Support to Send Together for Palestine Track to UK Holiday Chart Peak.

A charity drive is aiming to launch a traditional song from Palestine to the top of the UK charts. The effort aims to provide aid to communities in Gaza while also showcasing Palestinian culture and creativity.

A Chance for Support and an "Unlikely Coup"

Renowned figure Brian Eno, who features on the track, stated that the song titled Lullaby represents a chance to show solidarity with Palestinians over the Christmas period. He noted the potential for an unlikely festive coup.

“It would be incredible if that came to pass, yes,” he stated. “I’m not gonna be completely let down if it doesn't manage to, Christmas singles are a category of their own.”

Defiant Message of Freedom and Dignity

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who sings on the version of a traditional lullaby called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the song's defiant core message.

“It occupies a deeply meaningful spot for many individuals,” Barghouti shared. “The essence is that I would choose to perish with honor than spend my life without freedom. That’s the main theme of the song; we desire to exist a respectful existence that we merit as a people.”

Recording Origins and Contributing Musicians

The song was recorded after a major charity concert held in September. First conceived to be performed and recorded live, the piece was shelved during the concert due to time constraints.

The notable list of musicians appearing on Lullaby encompasses a range of prominent voices from the scene. All took part in the September show, which managed to collect a significant sum for humanitarian aid.

Final Touches and Availability

Lullaby was crafted by a team of producers and composers. The track showcases a fusion of the heritage language with freshly written English words.

The group managing the project have clarified that their goal is to collect the highest amount for a specific fund. These donations will be channeled to projects in Palestine through an non-profit partner.

“We haven't set a specific target,” a figure said. “We aim for as much as possible. Of course, the higher the total, the greater the impact. Every penny goes out to Gaza.”

The situation in the region was described as its profound destruction, with a huge proportion of infrastructure reportedly levelled or seriously harmed.

“Against that backdrop, a handful of millions is unlikely to make an enormous impact. But I think what truly matters is first of all making this cause better known and demonstrating the human dimension of the story.”

The single 'Lullaby' is scheduled for release this Friday. Additionally, a complete film of the benefit event will be made available for streaming on a digital service from later in the month.
