The artist has given the full amount of his twenty-five thousand pound award winnings to the trust for venues, which works to save the Britain's grassroots concert spaces.

The star was given the award on 16 October as his new release the album was named the best record of the past year.

Fender has decided to hand the money over to the MVT, in recognition of the essential function small stages played in his early career.

"I would not have achieved what I am doing today if it weren't for all the shows I did around the North East, and beyond, when I was beginning," stated the artist. "These venues are iconic, but they are facing challenges."

Since the start of 2023, at least 150 of these venues have shut down – roughly 16 percent of the whole industry in the UK.

Over the past year, well-known musicians including the band Pulp, Coldplay, Katy Perry and Sheeran have all aided the Music Venues Trust in its efforts to keep the scene afloat, by adding a minor surcharge to their admission fees, which benefits independent venues.

Fender also took part, generating more than £100,000 on his recent tour to assist 38 small stages across England, Scotland, and Wales.

The donation helped spaces that were facing imminent closure due to issues caused by floods, blazes and bereavements, as well as permit problems, conflicts and noise complaints.

Additional spaces were granted monetary aid in upgrading infrastructure and gear that helped musicians and concertgoers.

"The notion that revenue from concerts in large arenas supports the independent spots, where it all starts for musicians like me, is just logical," Fender has commented.

"The victory was ample," said singer the singer. "The cash was the bonus but we could do without the bonus, because we had the honor. So our success touched the lives of others."
