Suspect Charged with Attempted Murder in Shooting of NFL Player Kris Boyd

An individual has been formally accused with attempted murder in connection with the shooting that targeted New York Jets professional athlete Kris Boyd.

Accused Individual Identified and Taken Into Custody

The individual charged is a man from the Bronx, twenty years old. Authorities arrested him on Monday, accused of multiple serious charges.

Details of the Mid-November Incident

The traumatic event occurred in the middle of the night of 16 November, near a well-known New York City restaurant. Police described the event as a dispute with a unknown individuals.

Boyd, age 29, was with teammates and a third companion in a central part of New York City when the taunting began.

It resulted in a fight, during which it is alleged Green shot Boyd twice in the torso.

Severe Wounds and Hospitalization

The gunshot hit Boyd's lung and became embedded in his major blood vessel near the heart. He was taken to hospital in grave condition but was eventually released.

Sources state he has met with his fellow players at a Jets practice facility.

Investigation and Apprehension in Buffalo

Surveillance video from the scene allegedly captured Green fleeing and getting into a car operated by another person.

Law enforcement arrested Green on 8 December in a city approximately 580km away, where he was allegedly staying at his partner's residence.

A law enforcement statement noted that "a suspect" had been apprehended.

When officers surrounded the building, the suspect was seen "peeking out the apartment window searching for an escape avenue but retreated inside after spotting the team and a canine officer," the announcement added.

The confrontation concluded soon after, when the man left the apartment with his hands in the air.

The suspect had "altered his looks presumably to avoid detection," law enforcement stated further.

The Player's Career Background

Prior to joining the Jets earlier this year, Boyd was a member of the and Minnesota Vikings over multiple years in the NFL.

The cornerback had been on the team's injury list for the Jets after suffering a injury to his shoulder during practice in the late summer.
