I'll dominate 'credible combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight round fight which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the two fighters met personally to publicize the upcoming bout.

Ex two time unified title holder Anthony Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami's venue on 19 December.

Fighter's Mentality

"I plan to damage his features and damage his physique. My goal is to show I'm superior," Joshua, 35, stated.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I intend to really want to injure him. That's my goal."

Respectful Interaction

Despite those words, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - typically recognized for his dramatics - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul rather criticized ex Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "not serious" after the Cameroonian turned down a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Fury

Anthony Joshua, at the same time, criticized British opponent Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul win.

"[Paul] outshines Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Fighter

In spite of stating he plans to damage his opponent, Joshua refused to speak negatively about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he remarked.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.

He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

Nevertheless, the novice remains one of boxing's greatest commercial attractions, regularly earning huge earnings.

Forecast and Belief

The 28-year-old predicted a KO victory in rounds four or five and claimed he would derail the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently under discussion for 2026.

"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul stated.

Size Disparity

As the two fighters met for the traditional stare-down, with their size difference evident, it drove home just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is truly proceeding.
