Legal authorities have announced that a former physician has been charged with carrying out assaults involving thirty-eight individuals who were patients.
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of dozens of acts of sexual assault – including acts against children younger than 13 – between 2017 to 2021.
One deputy chief CPS official commented, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to support a detailed and complex police inquiry, carefully reviewing the evidence to determine that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
These allegations come after what investigators called a “complex investigation” into alleged sexual offences at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and Russells Hall hospital.
Spencer is scheduled to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.
